- Assist the Produce Manager in daily operations of the department.
- Ensure high-quality, fresh produce is consistently stocked and displayed in an attractive manner.
- Train and supervise team members to maintain excellent customer service and product knowledge.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving of produce.
- Maintain a clean and organized department, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Produce Manager to create and implement promotional and sales strategies.
- Assist with scheduling and managing staffing levels to ensure efficient operation of the department.
- Monitor and maintain proper pricing and signage for all products.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new products to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Assist with conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures within the department.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed and share knowledge with team members.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Knowledge Of Produce Industry: The Assistant Produce Manager Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Produce Industry, Including Knowledge Of Various Fruits And Vegetables, Seasonality, And Quality Standards.
Experience In Retail Management: Previous Experience In A Retail Management Role, Preferably In A Produce Department, Is Essential For This Position. The Candidate Should Have Experience With Inventory Management, Ordering, And Merchandising.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Key Member Of The Produce Team, The Assistant Produce Manager Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Train And Oversee Staff, Communicate With Customers, And Work With Other Departments.
Strong Leadership Abilities: The Assistant Produce Manager Will Be Responsible For Supervising And Supporting A Team Of Produce Clerks. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills Are Necessary To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance, And Maintain A Positive And Productive Work Environment.
