As an Assistant Produce Manager, you will work closely with the Produce Manager to ensure our produce department is well-stocked, visually appealing and providing exceptional customer service. - Assist the Produce Manager in overseeing the daily operations and performance of the produce department.
- Ensure all produce displays are properly stocked, rotated, and maintained to meet the store's high standards for freshness and quality.
- Train and develop a team of produce department employees to provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
- Collaborate with the Produce Manager to create and implement strategies to increase sales and promote new products.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of produce for customers.
- Assist with ordering and receiving produce shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the produce department.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new produce products to make informed recommendations to customers.
- Work with the Produce Manager to set and achieve sales and financial goals for the department.
Knowledge Of Produce: A Qualified Assistant Produce Manager Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Different Types Of Fruits And Vegetables, Their Seasonality, And Proper Handling And Storage Techniques.
