- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the produce department, including managing inventory, setting up displays, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the department.
- Train and mentor produce team members on product knowledge, customer service, and department procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of seasonal produce to plan and maintain a diverse and high-quality selection for customers.
- Monitor and maintain produce quality standards, including proper storage, handling, and rotation of products.
- Collaborate with the Produce Manager to develop and implement strategies for increasing sales and improving customer satisfaction.
- Assist in scheduling and supervising the produce team to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues or concerns.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Monitor produce department expenses and work to maximize profitability while minimizing waste.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new products in order to make knowledgeable recommendations to customers and improve the department’s offerings.
Knowledge Of Produce Industry: A Successful Assistant Produce Manager At Sprouts Farmers Market Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Produce Industry, Including Knowledge Of Different Fruits And Vegetables, Seasonality, And Quality Standards.
Leadership Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Produce Department Employees. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In A Supervisory Role And Possess Strong Leadership Skills.
