1. Oversee daily operations of the deli department, ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are completed efficiently and effectively.
2. Train and develop deli associates to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
3. Assist in creating and maintaining deli department schedules to ensure proper coverage and efficient use of resources.
4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of deli items and minimize waste.
5. Collaborate with the Deli Manager to develop and implement strategies for increasing sales and improving department performance.
6. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
7. Uphold the company's standards for customer service, including greeting and assisting customers, addressing any concerns or complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
8. Assist in managing department finances, including monitoring expenses and controlling labor costs.
9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new deli products, and make recommendations to the Deli Manager for menu updates and improvements.
10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among deli associates and other departments.
11. Lead by example and maintain a strong work ethic, setting a high standard for deli associates to follow.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli Manager or store management.
