- Oversee daily operations of the deli department, including ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Assist the Deli Manager in managing inventory levels, ordering products, and maintaining proper stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Train and lead a team of deli employees, ensuring they are knowledgeable about products, food safety protocols, and providing excellent customer service.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and freshness of deli products, ensuring they meet company standards and are appealing to customers.
- Collaborate with the Deli Manager to create and implement promotions, displays, and other marketing initiatives to increase sales and attract new customers.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist in creating and maintaining schedules for deli employees, ensuring adequate coverage during peak business hours.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and procedures within the deli department to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain a clean and organized deli department, including proper storage and rotation of products and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new products, and best practices to ensure the deli department remains competitive and meets customer needs.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, and ensure all employees are following them as well.
- Collaborate with other department managers to ensure smooth operations and effective communication between departments.
- Handle and resolve employee and customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to deli employees to support their growth and development.
Previous Experience In A Deli Or Food Service Management Role. This Could Include Experience As A Deli Manager, Assistant Manager, Or Supervisor At A Grocery Store, Restaurant, Or Other Food Service Establishment.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation Regulations. As An Assistant Deli Manager, It Will Be Important To Ensure That All Food Products Are Handled And Prepared According To Industry Standards To Maintain A Safe And Healthy Environment For Customers And Employees.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills. The Assistant Deli Manager Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Employees, Delegating Tasks, And Communicating With Other Department Managers And Store Leadership. Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills Will Be Essential To Effectively Manage The Deli Department.
