Job Description

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to join our team and help us deliver an exceptional deli experience to our customers. In this role, you will assist in managing daily operations of the deli department, ensuring a clean and inviting atmosphere, and supporting our team of deli clerks.   1. Assist in managing daily operations of the deli department, including but not limited to, ordering and receiving products, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring proper food safety and sanitation protocols are followed.
  2. Ensure a clean and inviting atmosphere in the deli department by overseeing cleanliness, organization, and presentation of products.
  3. Support and train deli clerks on proper product handling, preparation, and customer service.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure products are always in stock and fresh.
  5. Assist in creating and implementing promotional and sales strategies to drive deli department sales.
  6. Uphold high standards of food quality and customer service, ensuring that all products meet Sprouts' standards.
  7. Collaborate with the store management team to develop and implement plans to achieve department goals and objectives.
  8. Assist in hiring, training, and supervising deli department staff, ensuring all team members are knowledgeable about products and provide exceptional customer service.
  9. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
  10. Continuously seek out ways to improve deli department operations and customer experience.
  11. Act as a role model for the team by demonstrating a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent customer service skills.
  12. Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain a strong knowledge of Sprouts' products and services.
  13. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers.
  14. Assist in conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing coaching and feedback to deli department staff.
  15. Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Deli Manager or Store Management.

Job Qualifications
  • Previous Experience In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role, Preferably In A Deli Or Food Service Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation Guidelines, As Well As Experience With Inventory Management And Ordering.

  • Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Train And Develop Team Members.

  • Knowledge Of Deli Products And Preparation Methods, As Well As The Ability To Create And Follow Deli Recipes.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours, Including Nights, Weekends, And Holidays, And To Handle Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Situations.
