Job Description

As a member of a small research team, the incumbent is responsible for research, development, and demonstration of new and emerging technologies in the areas of residential and commercial building electrification, energy efficiency and demand management. Research, develop, and demonstrate new technologies in the areas of residential and commercial building electrification (e.g. HVAC and water heating); energy efficiency; demand management; building energy management; advanced lighting and lighting controls; advanced building thermal envelope; and smart end-use devices. Lab and field-testing of emerging end-use technologies. Provide operating company marketing organizations with technical evaluation support in analyzing retail customers’ energy choices and associated end-use technology applications. Review emerging regulatory trends and external activities in the electrification, energy efficiency, and demand response areas.

Job Qualifications

Minimum 3 years lab and field-testing experience in the areas of building energy management, smart home devices, end-use energy efficiency
Hands-on capability for lab setup and testing.
Solid computer and data analysis skills for evaluating the performance of energy end-use equipment.
Experience with technoeconomic analysis.
