Sonoco is looking for an Electrical Engineer who is passionate about getting the job done right and who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, and a strong understanding of industrial and commercial electrical system design. Additionally, the successful candidate will have knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical safety codes, as well as a good understanding of electrical systems used in automation, control, and power distribution. Self-motivated and possessing excellent problem-solving and communication skills, the Electrical Engineer will be a valued member of the Sonoco team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for industrial and commercial use.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal electrical safety codes.
- Maintain and update existing electrical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and materials to improve electrical system performance.
- Develop detailed electrical system designs, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate electrical system installation with contractors.
- Monitor the ongoing performance of electrical systems and adjust as needed.
- Create and maintain electrical system documentation and databases.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
- Provide customer service and support.
