1. Greet and welcome customers to the produce department with a positive and friendly attitude.
2. Maintain a clean and organized produce department, including stocking and facing products, removing damaged or expired items, and maintaining proper signage and pricing.
3. Ensure that all produce is fresh, visually appealing, and meets quality standards.
4. Assist customers with locating desired produce items and provide recommendations and information on products.
5. Operate and maintain equipment used in the produce department, such as scales, slicers, and refrigeration units.
6. Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming produce shipments.
7. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management to ensure adequate stock is available.
8. Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
9. Collaborate with team members to create attractive displays and promotions to increase sales.
10. Continuously learn about new produce products and stay up-to-date on seasonal produce availability.
11. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
12. Handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
13. Follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
14. Assist in other areas of the store as needed, such as stocking shelves or helping with customer carry-outs.
