- Develop and design innovative and high-quality performance apparel that aligns with the Skechers brand.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, merchandising, and marketing to ensure cohesive and on-brand designs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market research, and consumer preferences to inform and inspire design decisions.
- Lead the design process from concept to execution, including sketching, creating tech packs, and reviewing and revising samples.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, inspiring creativity and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Present design concepts and collections to key stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making revisions as necessary.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all design tasks.
- Work closely with sourcing and production teams to select materials, trims, and finishes that meet performance and cost requirements.
- Adhere to brand guidelines and standards, ensuring all designs are on-brand and meet the high-quality standards of Skechers USA.
- Stay organized and maintain accurate records of all design and development processes, including sketches, revisions, and technical specifications.
Extensive Experience In Designing Performance Apparel: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Designing Performance Apparel For A Reputable Brand. They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Current Trends, Materials, And Construction Techniques For Performance Apparel.
Knowledge Of Athletic And Outdoor Markets: The Senior Designer Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Athletic And Outdoor Markets, Including Competitors, Target Demographics, And Industry Trends. This Will Allow Them To Create Designs That Are Both Innovative And Commercially Viable.
Strong Technical Skills: The Role Requires A Senior Designer Who Is Proficient In Technical Design Software Such As Adobe Creative Suite And Has A Strong Understanding Of Pattern-Making And Garment Construction. They Should Also Have Experience In Creating Technical Sketches, Tech Packs, And Spec Sheets.
Leadership And Project Management Skills: As A Senior Designer, The Candidate Will Be Leading A Team Of Designers And Working Closely With Cross-Functional Teams Such As Product Development And Merchandising. They Should Have Excellent Leadership And Project Management Skills To Ensure Timely And Successful Execution Of Design Projects.
