Job Description

Review patient records, microbiology cultures, chemistry reports, and admission data as sources for identifying infections. Conduct patient care area rounds as necessary to identify case findings and environmental issues Initiate epidemiological investigations of significant clusters of infection or serious communicable disease concern. Review and recommends new or revised practices or procedures based on currently accepted, evidence-based infection prevention and control strategies, current scientific literature, regulations, standards and/or guidelines of applicable professional organizations and government agencies. Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and requirements including CDPHE, CMS, JCAHO and other publicly reported indicators. Maintain current information and regulatory requirements on infection prevention, control and epidemiology in order to disseminate accordingly to processes and customers.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital clinical nursing, medical technology, public health or other health related field

  • Infection control experience
