Job Description

Shoe Carnival is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our team! As the Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring our merchandise is accurately received and shipped out to our stores.   1. Receive and process incoming shipments from vendors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring all products are easily accessible and properly labeled.
  3. Prepare and pack orders for shipment to stores, ensuring all items are accounted for and packaged securely.
  4. Collaborate with store managers to fulfill their inventory needs and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking numbers and delivery dates.
  6. Inspect all incoming merchandise for quality and report any damages or defects to the appropriate parties.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas clutter-free.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  9. Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as restocking shelves and processing returns.
  10. Comply with all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  11. Utilize computer software and systems to track inventory, shipments, and other relevant data.
  12. Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet daily productivity goals.
  13. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture by offering support and assistance to colleagues when needed.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and suggest ideas for streamlining processes and increasing efficiency.
  15. Represent Shoe Carnival in a professional manner at all times and uphold company values and standards.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: This Position Requires A Minimum Educational Requirement Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Applicant Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Previous Experience In Shipping And Receiving: Prior Experience In A Shipping And Receiving Role Is Highly Desirable. This Includes Knowledge Of Shipping Procedures, Familiarity With Shipping Software, And Experience Handling And Tracking Inventory.

  • Attention To Detail: A Shipping/Receiving Clerk Must Possess Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure That Orders Are Accurately Processed And Inventory Is Properly Accounted For. This Includes Verifying Quantities And Product Information, And Maintaining Accurate Records.

  • Physical Fitness: This Job May Involve Standing For Long Periods Of Time, As Well As Lifting And Carrying Heavy Boxes And Packages. Therefore, Applicants Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Shipping/Receiving Clerk, You Will Be Working With Various Departments And Team Members To Coordinate Shipments And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For This Role.
