Job Description

Welcome to Shoe Carnival, where we believe that every step should be a celebration! We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk. As a vital member of our warehouse team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our inventory is properly received, stored, and shipped to our stores across the country.   1. Receive and process incoming shipments of inventory in an accurate and timely manner.
  2. Ensure all received merchandise is properly inspected, labeled, and recorded in the inventory system.
  3. Maintain organized and efficient storage of inventory in the warehouse.
  4. Prepare and pack orders for shipment to stores, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and fulfill urgent orders.
  6. Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for store orders.
  7. Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues.
  8. Communicate with store managers and other team members to address any shipment or inventory-related concerns.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the warehouse.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to store managers and other team members regarding inventory and shipment inquiries.
  11. Continuously look for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency in the shipping/receiving department.
  12. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  13. Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
  14. Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, such as stocking shelves and organizing inventory.
  15. Uphold the company's values and policies at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Shipping/Receiving Clerk At Shoe Carnival Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Effectively Communicate And Understand Instructions.

  • Previous Experience In Shipping And Receiving: Candidates With Previous Experience In Shipping And Receiving, Preferably In A Retail Or Warehouse Setting, Will Be Highly Preferred. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Handle Shipments, Maintain Inventory, And Follow Proper Receiving Procedures.

  • Attention To Detail: A Shipping/Receiving Clerk Must Be Detail-Oriented To Accurately Process Incoming And Outgoing Shipments. This Includes Checking For Accuracy, Recording Inventory Levels, And Ensuring All Necessary Documentation Is Completed.

  • Basic Computer Skills: Shoe Carnival Utilizes Computer Systems To Track Inventory And Process Shipments. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Basic Computer Skills And Be Comfortable Using Shipping Software And Other Relevant Programs.

  • Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills: As A Shipping/Receiving Clerk, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Managing And Organizing Incoming And Outgoing Shipments. This Requires Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills To Ensure That All Shipments Are Processed Efficiently And Accurately.
