Job Description

At Shoe Carnival, we believe that our team members are the key to our success. That's why we're searching for a highly motivated and dependable Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of merchandise in and out of our distribution center. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.   1. Receive and process incoming shipments of merchandise, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Inspect and verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders and packing lists.
  3. Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including accurately labeling and documenting contents.
  4. Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply.
  5. Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to retail stores.
  6. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move and organize merchandise.
  7. Communicate and report any discrepancies or damaged merchandise to appropriate parties.
  8. Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  9. Assist in conducting inventory audits and cycle counts as needed.
  10. Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and productivity in the shipping and receiving process.
  11. Keep up to date with company policies, procedures, and product information.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Follow all shipping and receiving regulations and maintain compliance.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Shipping/Receiving Clerk At Shoe Carnival Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Previous Experience In Shipping And Receiving: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In A Shipping And Receiving Role, Preferably In A Retail Or Warehouse Environment.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Shipping/Receiving Clerk, It Is Crucial To Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Accurately Track And Organize Incoming And Outgoing Shipments.

  • Physical Stamina: This Position Requires The Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Boxes And Merchandise, So Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Stand For Long Periods Of Time.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In This Role, As The Shipping/Receiving Clerk Will Need To Coordinate With Various Departments And Vendors To Ensure Timely And Accurate Delivery Of Merchandise.
