Job Description

Are you passionate about the latest shoe styles and trends? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a love for organization? If so, Shoe Carnival is looking for a Buyer's Assistant to join our team. As a Buyer's Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping our buyers source and select the best products for our stores. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in the retail industry.   1. Assist buyers in sourcing and selecting products for Shoe Carnival stores.
  2. Stay up-to-date on the latest shoe styles and trends to inform purchasing decisions.
  3. Conduct market research to identify potential new products and brands.
  4. Assist in negotiating and finalizing purchase orders with vendors.
  5. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues that arise.
  6. Manage product data and update inventory systems accurately.
  7. Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed buying decisions.
  8. Collaborate with the merchandising team to plan and execute promotional strategies.
  9. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, staying informed of new products and negotiating favorable terms.
  10. Assist in preparing and presenting sales reports and forecasts to upper management.
  11. Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  12. Assist in managing the budget for purchasing and inventory.
  13. Support buyers in other tasks and projects as needed.
  14. Communicate effectively and efficiently with team members and vendors.
  15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry best practices.
