Network Engineer
Must possess either a Cisco CCNP certification or equivalent networking expertise. Perform troubleshooting and support for internal and external customer networks within the SG Lottery network. Implement and support standard network configurations for all routers, switches and firewalls. Performs network maintenance and upgrades as required. Implement, maintain and support SNMP monitoring alert thresholds for routers, switches, and firewalls and databases. Troubleshoots and resolves network WAN outages and escalates with telecom provider as needed. Troubleshoot and support firewall configuration issues and apply firewall rule change requests. Analyzes firewall rules and alerts for intrusions and attacks. Work within the Network Engineering Team and with the Network Operations Center to develop and implement incident resolution. Researches, resolves and documents Syslog generated error messages.
5+ years networking engineering experience
Cisco CCNP certification path preferred but equivalent professional knowledge in Routing and Switching, and Security is acceptable
Knowledge of trouble ticketing systems and methodologies
Knowledge of spanning-tree, VTP, port channels and load balancing
