We’re looking for an experienced Publicist to join Scholastic’s dynamic and creative team. This position requires excellent communication, organizational, and marketing skills, as well as a passion for children’s literature and media. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing effective media strategies and executing successful media campaigns. If you’re a highly motivated individual with an outgoing personality, a creative eye, and a knack for getting the word out, then we want to hear from you! Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, communication, media relations, or a related field• Excellent writing and editing skills• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective media strategies• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media outlets• Proven track record in developing successful PR campaigns• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Experience with press release writing and distribution• Proficiency with social media and digital marketing strategies
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective media strategies to promote Scholastic's products.
- Create press releases, blog posts, and other content to support communication and PR efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to ensure visibility and reach.
- Execute successful PR campaigns with tight deadlines.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage to measure success of campaigns.
- Utilize social media and digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness.
- Assist with other marketing tasks and projects as needed.
