  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of global data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
  2. Oversee and enforce compliance with data privacy policies and procedures throughout the organization.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data privacy is integrated into all business processes and systems.
  4. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential privacy risks and implement corrective actions.
  5. Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy inquiries and concerns from internal stakeholders, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  6. Stay current on industry best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement of data privacy practices.
  7. Train and educate employees on data privacy policies and procedures, including regular awareness campaigns.
  8. Advise on data privacy implications of new business initiatives and partnerships.
  9. Monitor and respond to data privacy incidents, conducting investigations and reporting to appropriate parties as needed.
  10. Represent the company in legal proceedings related to data privacy and act as a liaison with external legal counsel.
  11. Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products, services, and processes.
  12. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies as necessary.
  13. Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure the security of sensitive data.
  14. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulators, industry associations, and privacy professionals.
  15. Stay informed of emerging data privacy trends and developments and provide strategic recommendations to the leadership team.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Data Privacy Laws And Regulations: A Data Privacy Officer - Counsel At Sanofi Should Possess In-Depth Knowledge Of Global Data Privacy Laws And Regulations, Including Gdpr, Hipaa, And Ccpa. This Includes Understanding Legal Requirements, Compliance Standards, And Best Practices For Protecting Sensitive Data.

  • Legal Background And Experience: As A Key Member Of The Legal Team, This Role Requires A Strong Legal Background And Experience In Data Privacy. This Includes A Law Degree And Preferably Several Years Of Experience As A Privacy Lawyer Or In A Similar Role.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: A Data Privacy Officer - Counsel At Sanofi Should Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Work With Different Departments And Stakeholders. This Includes The Ability To Clearly Communicate Complex Data Privacy Issues And Provide Guidance And Recommendations To Ensure Compliance.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Data Privacy Issues Can Be Complex And Require Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Analyze And Evaluate Potential Risks And Identify Solutions To Mitigate These Risks.

  • Experience In Developing And Implementing Data Privacy Programs: Sanofi Is A Global Company With Operations In Multiple Countries, Making Data Privacy Compliance A Complex Task. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Data Privacy Programs And Policies On A Global Scale, Including Training And Awareness Programs For Employees.
