
Intern - Metallurgy and Materials Engineering
We are looking for an enthusiastic Intern - Metallurgy and Materials Engineering to join the team at Sandia National Laboratories. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in the areas of metallurgy and materials engineering to the development of materials for a variety of applications. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative team of engineers and scientists working to develop creative solutions to challenging problems. To be successful in this role, you must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in metallurgy, materials science, or a related field. You must also have strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for innovation and collaboration. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles, as well as experience in metallurgical laboratory techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply knowledge and skills in metallurgy and materials engineering to develop materials for a variety of applications.
- Work with a team of engineers and scientists to develop creative solutions to challenging problems.
- Utilize strong communication and problem-solving skills to facilitate collaboration and innovation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles and metallurgical laboratory techniques.
- Participate in research projects and present findings to the team.
- Contribute to the development of new processes and technologies related to metallurgy and materials engineering.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in the field.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of research projects.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Metallurgy/Materials Engineering
Familiarity With Metallurgical Laboratory Operations
Knowledge Of Modern Machining And Welding Processes
Experience With The Use Of Modern Metallurgical Analysis Techniques
Working Knowledge Of Material Characterization Techniques
Ability To Design And Execute Experiments
Ability To Analyze And Interpret Metallurgical Data
