
Patient Safety Coordinator
San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Patient Safety Coordinator to join our Quality & Patient Safety Department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the patient safety activities throughout the medical center, with the goal of promoting a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff and visitors.The successful candidate will possess a proactive approach to patient safety and a commitment to quality assurance and improvement. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a patient safety or quality assurance role. A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred, although experience can be substituted for a degree. Responsibilities:
- Oversee patient safety activities throughout the medical center to promote a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors.
- Develop and implement quality assurance and improvement strategies to ensure a high level of patient safety.
- Analyze patient safety data and develop action plans to address identified risks.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative personnel to ensure that patient safety initiatives are implemented effectively.
- Provide education and training to staff on patient safety topics.
- Monitor compliance with patient safety regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain patient safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety committees and meetings as required.
- Maintain records of incidents and report data to appropriate personnel.
- Investigate patient safety incidents and complaints.
- Respond to questions and concerns related to patient safety.
- Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is a plus.
