We are currently seeking a Specialty Clinic Surgery Coordinator for our orthopedics department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in coordinating and organizing surgical procedures for our orthopedic patients.   1. Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for orthopedic patients, ensuring all necessary appointments and preparations are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that surgeries are scheduled according to availability and meet the needs of patients.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgical schedules, patient information, and other relevant data.
  4. Communicate with patients and their families to provide information and answer questions about surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, and any necessary preparations.
  5. Collaborate with insurance companies and other healthcare providers to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals for surgical procedures.
  6. Ensure that all surgical equipment and supplies are available and properly maintained, and coordinate with the appropriate departments to order and restock as needed.
  7. Monitor and track surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction, and make recommendations for improvements to enhance the overall patient experience.
  8. Stay current on the latest advancements and techniques in orthopedic surgery and assist in planning and implementing training programs for staff.
  9. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Certification: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field, As Well As Certification As A Registered Nurse (Rn) Or Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst).

  • Experience In Orthopedics: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In A Surgical Setting, With A Focus On Orthopedic Procedures. This Experience Should Include Both Clinical And Administrative Responsibilities.

  • Strong Organizational And Communication Skills: As A Surgery Coordinator, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing Multiple Schedules And Coordinating With Various Departments And Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Organizational And Communication Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Processes And Protocols: A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Processes And Protocols, Including Pre-Operative And Post-Operative Care, Is Necessary For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices And Patient Safety Protocols.

  • Ability To Work Well Under Pressure: Surgery Coordinators Must Be Able To Handle High-Pressure Situations And Make Quick Decisions In A Fast-Paced Environment. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Calm Demeanor, Strong Problem-Solving Skills, And The Ability To Multitask Efficiently.
