Job Description

Salem Health is seeking an experienced, professional Phlebotomist to join our team. This critical role will be responsible for collecting and processing blood samples from patients in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a friendly and patient demeanor, as well as possess strong communication and organizational skills.The successful Phlebotomist must have at least a high school diploma or GED, in addition to a valid state phlebotomy certification. Previous experience working in a health care setting is preferred. The successful candidate should also have a strong working knowledge of safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and OSHA standards.We believe that the right person for this role will be able to consistently deliver excellent patient care and make a positive impact on our team. Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and process blood samples from patients in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
  2. Maintain a friendly and patient demeanor while interacting with patients.
  3. Ensure that all safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and OSHA standards are followed.
  4. Communicate effectively with staff members and other healthcare professionals.
  5. Maintain strong organizational skills and keep accurate records.
  6. Assist with training and onboarding of new phlebotomists.
  7. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and disinfected.
  8. Perform quality assurance checks on collected samples.
  9. Follow all company policies and procedures.
  10. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
