
Surgical Technologist - Labor & Delivery

- Assist in surgical procedures: As a Surgical Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to assist in surgical procedures in the Labor & Delivery department. This includes preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available, and assisting the surgical team during the procedure.
- Maintain a safe environment: The safety of our patients is of utmost importance, and as a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the operating room. This includes adhering to infection control protocols, properly sterilizing equipment, and monitoring the patient's vital signs during surgery.
- Ensure equipment and supplies are available: You will be responsible for checking and restocking supplies and equipment before and after each surgical procedure. This includes properly storing and handling equipment, as well as ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with surgical team: As a member of the surgical team, you will need to work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process. This may include passing instruments, anticipating the surgeon's needs, and communicating effectively with team members.
- Provide patient care: In addition to assisting in surgical procedures, Surgical Technologists also provide direct patient care. This may include preparing patients for surgery, positioning them on the operating table, and monitoring their vital signs during the procedure.
- Maintain accurate documentation: Accurate documentation is crucial in the healthcare setting, and as a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate records of each surgical procedure. This includes recording equipment usage, patient vital signs, and any complications that may arise during surgery.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments: As a member of the healthcare team, it is important to stay current on industry developments and advancements in surgical techniques and technology. You may be responsible for attending training sessions and continuing education courses to expand your knowledge and skills.

Associate's Degree In Surgical Technology: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Program Is Required For This Position.
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Cst Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Labor And Delivery Experience: Previous Experience In A Labor And Delivery Surgical Setting Is Highly Preferred, As It Demonstrates The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment.
Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Procedures: Surgical Technologists Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Procedures, Specifically In The Labor And Delivery Setting.
Team Player With Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Work Well In A Team And Communicate Effectively With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial For Success In This Role.
