
Respiratory Therapist - PICU

- Provide compassionate and skilled respiratory therapy services to pediatric patients in the PICU.

- Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and documentation of interventions.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in all aspects of respiratory therapy.

Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field: A Respiratory Therapist In The Picu At Saint Francis Health System Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Provides The Necessary Theoretical Knowledge And Practical Skills Needed To Excel In This Role.
Rrt Certification: Respiratory Therapists Working In The Picu At Saint Francis Health System Must Be Certified As A Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) By The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc). This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The National Standards For Respiratory Therapy Practice.
Active State License: In Addition To Rrt Certification, A Respiratory Therapist Must Also Hold An Active State License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Ensures That The Therapist Is In Good Standing And Has Met All The Requirements For Practicing Respiratory Therapy In That State.
Pediatric Experience: Saint Francis Health System Is Seeking A Respiratory Therapist For Their Picu, So Experience Working With Pediatric Patients Is A Must. The Ideal Candidate Would Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Pediatric Setting, Preferably In A Critical Care Environment.
Advanced Life Support (Als) Certification: Given The Critical Nature Of The Picu, It Is Essential For The Respiratory Therapist To Have Advanced Life Support Skills. Saint Francis Health System Requires Candidates To Have A Current Als Certification, Which Includes Training In Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp).
