- Provide high-quality care to patients with psychiatric needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and following established protocols.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and mental health, including evaluating and monitoring any medications or treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor their effectiveness.
- Assist in creating a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date on current advancements and changes in psychiatric care to continuously improve patient outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergencies and crisis situations in a calm and efficient manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their rights are respected and their needs are met.
- Collaborate with community resources and referral agencies to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans and treatment strategies.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards related to psychiatric care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited University: A Bsn Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Research, And Clinical Skills, Which Are Essential For A Psychiatric Nurse Role.
Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Oklahoma: A Current And Valid Rn License Is Required To Practice Nursing In The State Of Oklahoma And Is A Non-Negotiable Requirement For This Position.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Psychiatric Nursing: Psychiatric Nursing Is A Specialized Field That Requires Advanced Knowledge And Skills. Having At Least 2 Years Of Experience In This Area Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Mental Health Disorders And Treatment Approaches.
Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Bls Certification Is Necessary For Providing Emergency Care And Resuscitation In Case Of A Patient's Sudden Decline. It Is An Essential Qualification For Any Nursing Position, Including Psychiatric Nursing.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In Psychiatric Nursing Requires Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Assess And Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. The Ability To Build Trusting Relationships With Patients Is Critical In Providing Quality Psychiatric Care.
