  1. Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
  3. Schedule appointments and collect co-pays or payments.
  4. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.
  5. Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and visitors.
  6. Coordinate patient flow and manage waiting room queues.
  7. Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  9. Communicate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure smooth patient flow.
  10. Resolve any patient concerns or complaints in a compassionate and timely manner.
  11. Update and maintain accurate patient records.
  12. Collaborate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain authorizations.
  13. Educate patients on financial assistance programs and payment options.
  14. Stay current on insurance and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.
  15. Attend training and meetings to stay informed on changes and updates in policies and procedures.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  17. Serve as a positive representative of Saint Francis Health System and promote a positive image.
  18. Continuously strive to improve processes and enhance the patient experience.
  19. Assist with other administrative duties as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Access Representative At Saint Francis Health System Should Possess A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Professionally With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Providers Is Essential For A Patient Access Representative.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Necessary For A Patient Access Representative To Accurately Schedule Appointments And Obtain Necessary Information From Patients.

  • Experience In Customer Service: The Role Of A Patient Access Representative Requires Frequent Interaction With Patients And Their Families. Experience In Customer Service, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is A Valuable Qualification.
