
Medical Assistant - Oncology
At Saint Francis Health System, we are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant - Oncology to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an oncology setting along with a certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.The Medical Assistant - Oncology is a vital part of our team and is responsible for providing a wide range of clinical and administrative support to the oncology team. This role requires a personable and reliable individual with excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. The successful candidate should have a friendly and approachable demeanor and be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and administrative support to the oncology team
- Maintain patient records and perform other clerical duties as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Assist with patient check-ins and check-outs
- Prepare patient rooms for exams and treatments
- Assist with procedures and treatments in accordance with the physician’s orders
- Collect and record vital signs, document patient medical histories, and assist with lab work
- Prepare and administer medications and injections
- Provide patient education on medications and treatments
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all safety protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Participate in team meetings and training programs
