Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank

To be successful in this role, the Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank will need to be detail-oriented and have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other members of the laboratory staff.Required qualifications include a degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science and a minimum of one year of experience in a hospital laboratory setting. A certification in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science is also preferred. Previous experience in a blood bank setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform tests and analyze blood samples in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
2. Utilize laboratory instruments, computers, and other technologies to conduct clinical tests and analyze results.
3. Maintain accurate records of patient test results and other relevant data.
4. Assist with the preparation of new and existing blood products.
5. Monitor and maintain quality assurance/control standards.
6. Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
7. Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure the successful execution of laboratory operations.
8. Monitor and update blood bank inventory as needed.
9. Ensure that all safety and regulatory guidelines are being followed.
10. Provide support to other teams and departments as needed.
