Job Description

Your expertise and knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations will directly impact the quality of patient care and reimbursement for our organization.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years of experience coding in an inpatient hospital setting and hold a current coding certification such as CCS or RHIA.   1. Accurately and timely code inpatient medical records using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
  2. Ensure compliance with all coding guidelines and regulations, including CMS and HIPAA.
  3. Review medical records and documentation to identify and assign appropriate codes.
  4. Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify any documentation discrepancies.
  5. Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations and appropriately apply them to coding processes.
  6. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all coding tasks.
  7. Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  8. Provide coding expertise and support to other team members as needed.
  9. Communicate effectively with multiple departments and individuals to resolve any coding-related issues.
  10. Actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay updated on coding processes and best practices.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay current with industry updates.
  12. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures related to coding and data privacy.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information.
  14. Contribute to the overall success of the organization by achieving high-quality coding and supporting organizational goals.
  15. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima)

  • Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Coding Experience In An Inpatient Hospital Setting

  • Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology
