Job Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading procurement activities for our company. To be successful, you must have a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to negotiate contracts. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, as well as 3+ years of experience in a similar role. In addition, you must have strong knowledge of purchasing laws and regulations, as well as expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of ERP systems.If you have the qualifications we are looking for, and you are excited about the opportunity to join a leading edge company, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the procurement process for the company, including developing and managing purchasing plans and contracts.
  2. Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers, ensuring the terms are in the company's best interest.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers in order to ensure timely procurement of necessary goods and services.
  4. Monitor supplier performance and investigate any discrepancies in quality or delivery.
  5. Prepare purchase orders and update the ERP system with relevant information.
  6. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding purchasing.
  7. Analyze market trends and review current pricing to identify cost-savings opportunities.
  8. Provide accurate and timely reports on procurement activities, spend, and performance.
  9. Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  10. Develop and implement systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of the procurement process.
