At SAIC, we are looking for a talented and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team. Successful candidates will have a keen eye for detail, superior organizational skills, and an ability to think outside the box to find cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will be strategic and analytical, able to understand complex data and develop effective strategies for efficient procurement.The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company and government policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.To be successful in this role, the Procurement Specialist must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in a procurement or related role. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to procurement is essential, as is an understanding of the principles and procedures of purchasing.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement process and ensure compliance with company and government policies and regulations.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Analyze complex data and develop strategies for efficient procurement.
- Research and source materials, goods, and services in a cost-effective manner.
- Review and monitor contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders and invoices.
- Maintain and update vendor information in the company database.
- Utilize analytical skills to develop and implement best practices for procurement.
- Stay current with applicable laws and regulations related to procurement.
- Monitor and manage vendor performance and resolve any issues.
