SAIC is looking for a highly-motivated and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. We are looking for someone with a passion for procurement and a commitment to excellence that will help us efficiently and effectively purchase goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, accounts payable, contract management, or another related field. They must have demonstrated success in negotiating and managing contracts, and the ability to stay organized and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will possess strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills. They must also be knowledgeable about procurement best practices and the principles of supply chain management. Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including the issuing of requests for proposals (RFPs), the review of bids, and the selection of suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and manage contract renewals.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding procurement.
- Analyze and forecast market trends in order to identify potential savings opportunities.
- Develop and implement cost-effective strategies for procuring goods and services.
- Maintain a database of approved suppliers and their capabilities.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new suppliers as needed.
- Work with internal stakeholders to determine needs and develop procurement specifications.
- Develop and administer contracts and agreements.
- Create and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders.
- Track and report on budget and spend.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Identify and resolve any procurement-related issues.
