At SAIC, we are looking for a motivated, organized, and analytical Operations Research Analyst to become an essential part of our team. As an Operations Research Analyst, you will work collaboratively across departments to formulate and solve complex organizational and technical problems. If you have a passion for data-driven decision making and advanced problem-solving skills, we’d love to hear from you!The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or a related field, with at least two years of experience in operations research or a related field. You must have a deep understanding of probability and statistics, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with operations research techniques (e.g. linear programming, network optimization, queuing theory, simulation, etc.) is preferred. You must also be proficient in programming and have strong computer and database skills. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work independently and be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across departments to formulate and solve complex organizational and technical problems.
- Analyze and interpret data to make decisions and develop recommendations.
- Utilize operations research techniques such as linear programming, network optimization, queuing theory, and simulation.
- Design, develop, and implement operations research models.
- Program and analyze data using databases, spreadsheets, and other software tools.
- Develop and implement processes to improve organizational operations.
- Prepare reports and present results to management.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and industry trends.
- Manage projects and tasks independently.
- Provide technical and operational support to team members.
