- Coordinate and expedite the delivery of materials for production and operational needs.
- Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
- Monitor and track material orders, shipments, and deliveries to ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate and negotiate with vendors to resolve any issues or delays in material delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of material orders, shipments, and deliveries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project needs and ensure materials are procured accordingly.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of material inventories to identify potential shortages and take proactive measures to prevent delays.
- Analyze and report on material delivery performance and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards for procurement and supply chain management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Strong Knowledge Of Supply Chain Management: A Material Expeditor At Saic Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Supply Chain Management Principles And Practices, Including Procurement, Inventory Management, And Logistics.
Experience In Expediting: Saic Requires Its Material Expeditors To Have Experience In Expediting Materials And Supplies, Preferably In A Government Contracting Or Engineering Environment.
Attention To Detail: As A Material Expeditor, Attention To Detail Is Crucial. This Includes Accurately Tracking Materials, Maintaining Records, And Ensuring That All Necessary Documentation Is In Order.
Excellent Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively Both Verbally And In Writing Is Essential For A Material Expeditor. This Includes Communicating With Suppliers, Internal Teams, And Other Stakeholders To Ensure Timely Delivery Of Materials.
Proficiency In Inventory Management Software: Saic Relies On Sophisticated Inventory Management Systems To Track And Manage Materials. Therefore, Candidates For A Material Expeditor Position Should Have Experience Working With Such Software And Possess Strong Computer Skills.
