Sr. Electrician Maintenance Mechanic

- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all electrical systems on campus, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, emergency generators, and fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and provide effective and timely solutions to ensure minimal disruption to campus operations.
- Perform routine repairs and replacements of faulty electrical components and equipment.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, and promptly address any safety hazards or violations.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including equipment logs and inventory.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of electrical supplies and equipment, and submit purchase requests as needed.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in electrical maintenance techniques, and make recommendations for improvement to the maintenance team.
- Train and mentor junior electrician maintenance mechanics, and provide guidance and support as needed.

Relevant Education And Certifications: Candidates For A Sr. Electrician Maintenance Mechanic Position At Rutgers University Should Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, As Well As An Associate's Degree Or Trade School Certification In A Related Field Such As Electrical Technology Or Maintenance Mechanics. Additional Certifications, Such As A Journeyman Or Master Electrician License, Are Highly Desirable.
Extensive Experience In Electrical Maintenance: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience Working As An Electrician In A Maintenance Or Facilities Setting. This Should Include Experience With Troubleshooting And Repairing Complex Electrical Systems, As Well As Performing Preventive Maintenance And Equipment Inspections.
Knowledge Of Safety Standards And Regulations: The Safety Of Students, Faculty, And Staff Is A Top Priority At Rutgers University. As Such, Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Relevant Safety Standards And Regulations, Including Osha Guidelines, Nfpa Codes, And Local Building Codes. Experience Conducting Safety Inspections And Implementing Safety Protocols Is Also Preferred.
Strong Technical Aptitude: Sr. Electrician Maintenance Mechanics At Rutgers University Are Responsible For Maintaining And Repairing A Wide Range Of Electrical Equipment And Systems, Including Lighting, Hvac Controls, And Motors. Candidates Should Have A Strong Technical Aptitude And Be Familiar With Various Tools And Equipment Used In Electrical Maintenance, As Well As The Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals And Schematics.
Excellent Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Quickly Identify And Resolve Electrical Issues Is Crucial In This Role.
