  1. Conduct field work and collect data on marine animals and their habitats.
  2. Assist in setting up and maintaining research equipment and tools.
  3. Participate in research expeditions to collect data and samples from marine environments.
  4. Handle and care for marine animals in a respectful and ethical manner.
  5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working in an outdoor environment.
  6. Keep accurate records and logs of data collected during field work.
  7. Collaborate with other team members to analyze and interpret data.
  8. Maintain and clean research equipment and tools.
  9. Assist in the preparation of research reports and publications.
  10. Stay up-to-date with current research techniques and methodologies in the marine science field.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Marine Biology And Ecology: A Strong Understanding Of Marine Ecosystems, Species Identification, And Ecological Processes Is Essential For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Local Marine Species And Their Habitats.

  • Experience Working In Outdoor Settings: The Job Of A Seasonal Marine Field Worker Involves Working In Various Outdoor Environments, Including Shorelines, Wetlands, And Boats. Previous Experience In Outdoor Work Or Recreational Activities Such As Boating, Fishing, Or Hiking Is Highly Desirable.

  • Ability To Operate And Maintain Field Equipment: The Role Requires Proficiency In The Use And Maintenance Of Various Field Equipment Such As Boats, Nets, Traps, And Other Sampling Gear. Applicants Should Have Experience Operating And Maintaining This Equipment Or A Willingness To Learn.

  • Physical Fitness And Endurance: The Job Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Work In Adverse Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Be Comfortable Working In A Physically Demanding Environment And Be Able To Lift And Carry Heavy Equipment.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Part Of A Team, Seasonal Marine Field Workers Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Colleagues, Supervisors, And Researchers. Strong Teamwork Skills, The Ability To Take Direction, And A Positive Attitude Are All Essential For Success In This Role.
