- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to effectively manage a diverse portfolio of research programs.
- Create and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for each research program.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize research initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of ongoing research programs to ensure they are meeting objectives and staying on track.
- Identify potential risks and obstacles and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of research program staff and ensure their compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the research program team.
- Cultivate relationships with external partners, including funding agencies and industry collaborators, to facilitate successful partnerships and secure additional resources.
- Regularly report on the status and outcomes of research programs to university leadership.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in research program management and implement them as appropriate.
- Collaborate with other university departments and centers to promote interdisciplinary research collaborations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and ethical standards in research.
- Seek and pursue opportunities for new research partnerships and collaborations.
- Participate in the development and review of research program proposals and grant applications.
- Represent the university and its research programs at relevant conferences, workshops, and events.
Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field: A Successful Research Program Manager At Rutgers University Should Possess An Advanced Degree In A Field Related To Research, Such As A Masters Or Phd In Science, Engineering, Or Social Sciences.
