- Operate and maintain building systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and identify issues with building systems and develop solutions to resolve them.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs.
- Monitor and adjust building systems to maintain a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment for campus occupants.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including equipment logs and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to plan and execute maintenance projects and upgrades.
- Comply with all safety regulations and protocols to ensure the well-being of all campus occupants.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in building systems to continuously improve the efficiency and functionality of campus facilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to campus occupants by promptly addressing any concerns or issues related to building systems.
- Train and mentor junior staff members to ensure the smooth operation of building systems.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of building systems.
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment for maintenance and repair work.
- Communicate effectively with campus occupants, colleagues, and superiors to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by promoting teamwork and professionalism.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Operating And Maintaining A Variety Of Complex Mechanical And Electrical Equipment, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Hvac Systems, Building Automation Systems, And Energy Management Principles.
Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals, Blueprints, And Schematics.
Knowledge Of Safety Regulations And Procedures Related To Operating And Maintaining Equipment, Including Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, And Hazardous Materials Handling.
Possession Of A Valid Driver's License And Ability To Obtain A New Jersey Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler Operator License Within 6 Months Of Hire.
