- Teach courses in the visual arts, with a focus on creativity, innovation, and critical thinking.
- Develop and implement curriculum to provide students with a comprehensive education in the visual arts.
- Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career paths in the visual arts.
- Conduct research and contribute to the field of art and design through publications, presentations, and exhibitions.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary courses and projects.
- Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives.
- Maintain professional relationships with external organizations and individuals in the art and design community.
- Stay current with developments and trends in the field of art and design.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching and pedagogical practices.
- Participate in recruitment and retention efforts to attract and retain talented students.
- Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the Department of Art & Design and Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts.
- Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as academic and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues on departmental events, exhibitions, and activities.
- Serve as a role model for students by demonstrating a strong commitment to artistic excellence and professional integrity.
Master's Degree In Fine Arts, Preferably In A Related Field Such As Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Or Art Education.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Teaching Experience In A College Or University Setting, With A Strong Portfolio Of Student Work.
Demonstrated Expertise In A Variety Of Artistic Mediums, Including Traditional And Digital Techniques.
Knowledge Of Current Trends And Techniques In The Art And Design Industry, And The Ability To Incorporate Them Into Curriculum And Instruction.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Students, Faculty, And Staff.
