Welcome to the Department of Computer Science at Rutgers University! We are currently seeking a highly qualified and passionate individual to join our team as a Lecturer for the Spring 2025 semester. As a Lecturer, you will have the opportunity to teach recitations for undergraduate courses in the CS110 to CS170 range.   1. Design and deliver engaging and effective recitation sessions for undergraduate courses in the CS110 to CS170 range.
  2. Prepare course materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, that align with the department's curriculum and learning outcomes.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students by actively promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  4. Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to facilitate student learning and understanding of computer science concepts.
  5. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their coursework and performance.
  6. Stay updated with industry developments and incorporate relevant examples and applications in course content.
  7. Collaborate with course instructors and other lecturers to ensure consistency and coherence in course delivery.
  8. Hold regular office hours and provide academic support and guidance to students.
  9. Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities to continuously improve teaching skills and stay informed about departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Comply with departmental and university guidelines and standards for academic integrity and professional conduct.

Job Qualifications
  • A Ph.d. In Computer Science Or A Related Field, With A Strong Background In The Subject Matter Covered In Cs110-Cs170 Courses.

  • Prior Teaching Experience At The University Level, Preferably In Similar Courses Or Subject Areas.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Concepts And Facilitate Discussions In A Classroom Setting.

  • Familiarity With Current Trends And Developments In Computer Science Education, Including Active Learning Techniques And The Use Of Technology In The Classroom.
