
First Year Student Advisor/Specialist (Part-time)

- Provide exceptional academic and personal support to first-year students at Rutgers University.
- Serve as a resource for incoming students, providing guidance and information on academic programs, support services, and campus resources.
- Support the transition of first-year students to the university by providing guidance on course selection, academic planning, and time management.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff to ensure the success of first-year students.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives to enhance the first-year experience and promote student success.
- Conduct individual advising sessions with students to identify their academic and personal goals and provide guidance on how to achieve them.
- Act as a liaison between students and university departments, advocating for students' needs and concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and progress.
- Stay current on university policies, procedures, and resources to effectively support and guide students.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the university's mission and values, and promote a positive and inclusive campus community.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Counseling, Higher Education, Or Related Field.
Experience Working With College Students, Preferably In An Advising Or Student Services Role.
Knowledge Of Academic Policies And Procedures At Rutgers University.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.
