- Perform routine and thorough cleaning of assigned areas on campus, including classrooms, offices, bathrooms, and common spaces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of custodial equipment and supplies.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department or supervisor.
- Respond promptly to any urgent cleaning requests or spills on campus.
- Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed according to established standards and schedules.
- Monitor and restock supplies in designated areas, such as restrooms and common areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning duties.
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown, including moving furniture and setting up tables and chairs.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff by promptly addressing any cleaning concerns or requests.
- Collaborate with other custodial team members to ensure all areas of campus are clean and well-maintained.
- Follow all university policies and procedures, including those related to cleaning, safety, and confidentiality.
- Attend training and professional development sessions as required.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the university.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Most Custodian Positions At Rutgers University Require A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Previous Custodial Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Custodial Or Janitorial Role Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates Knowledge Of Cleaning Techniques And Equipment.
