
Contract Negotiator II

- Negotiate contracts with external vendors and suppliers on behalf of the university.
- Ensure that all contracts are in compliance with university policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to determine the most favorable terms and conditions for the university.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities in contract negotiations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers to establish and maintain strong partnerships.
- Manage the entire contract negotiation process, from initial discussions to final execution.
- Review and analyze existing contracts, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market conditions to inform negotiation strategies.
- Monitor and track contract performance, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all contracts and negotiations.
- Participate in contract review and approval processes as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for contract negotiation best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and improve contract negotiation processes and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
- Uphold the values and mission of Rutgers University in all contract negotiations and interactions.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Law, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Contract Negotiation, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Government Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Legal Terminology And Contract Language.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Multiple Stakeholders.
Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations Pertaining To Contract Negotiation, Such As Procurement Regulations And Intellectual Property Rights.
