  1. Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  2. Implement behavior intervention strategies and techniques based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  3. Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  4. Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  5. Collaborate with a team of professionals, including behavior analysts, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and effective treatment.
  6. Communicate regularly with families and caregivers to provide updates on progress and address any concerns.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of client progress and treatment sessions.
  8. Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  9. Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines in all interactions and interventions.
  10. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  11. Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  12. Continuously assess and improve treatment strategies to ensure the best possible outcomes for individuals.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of all client information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  14. Adhere to all policies and procedures of Rutgers University and the Department of Behavioral Health.
  15. Represent the university and the department in a professional and positive manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Psychology Or A Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Psychology Is Essential For A Behavioral Technician As They Will Be Working Closely With Individuals With Behavioral Challenges.

  • Experience Working With Individuals With Developmental Disabilities: Previous Experience Working With Individuals With Developmental Disabilities, Such As Autism Or Down Syndrome, Is Highly Preferred For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Applied Behavior Analysis (Aba): Aba Is A Widely Recognized And Evidence-Based Approach To Treating Individuals With Behavioral Challenges. Candidates Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Aba Principles And Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Behavioral Technician, You Will Be Working Closely With Individuals, Their Families, And A Multidisciplinary Team. Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Building Relationships And Promoting Positive Behavior Change.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: Behavioral Technicians May Be Required To Work Evenings And Weekends To Accommodate The Needs Of Their Clients. Candidates Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Availability And Flexibility To Work Outside Of Traditional Office Hours.
