  1. Develop and implement strategies for promoting sustainable agriculture and urban farming practices at Rutgers University.
  2. Oversee and manage a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and feedback.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and organizations to create and maintain partnerships that support sustainable agriculture initiatives.
  4. Conduct research and stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in sustainable agriculture.
  5. Plan and coordinate educational events, workshops, and conferences to raise awareness and educate the community on sustainable agriculture.
  6. Develop and manage budgets for sustainable agriculture projects and initiatives.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the success of sustainable agriculture programs, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  8. Represent Rutgers University at conferences, meetings, and other events related to sustainable agriculture.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with local farmers, suppliers, and other stakeholders in the sustainable agriculture community.
  10. Continuously seek out opportunities for grants and funding to support sustainable agriculture initiatives.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to sustainable agriculture.
  12. Serve as a mentor to staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  13. Promote a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship within the university community.
  14. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote sustainable agriculture initiatives and events.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sustainable Agriculture.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Sustainability, Agriculture, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role, Preferably In The Field Of Sustainable Agriculture Or Urban Farming.

  • Knowledge Of Sustainable Farming Practices And Urban Farming Techniques.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Various Stakeholders.

  • Familiarity With Grant Writing And Project Management To Secure Funding And Oversee Sustainable Agriculture And Urban Farm Initiatives.
