  1. Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex tax issues and disputes.
  2. Develop effective strategies to resolve tax controversies and disputes on behalf of clients.
  3. Advocate for clients in front of tax authorities and other relevant parties.
  4. Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide timely updates on the status of their cases.
  5. Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide the most accurate and relevant advice to clients.
  6. Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to tax controversy cases.
  7. Manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  8. Maintain organized and accurate records of all case-related information.
  9. Utilize strong negotiation skills to reach favorable outcomes for clients.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and expertise in tax controversy.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Tax Laws And Regulations: A Senior Associate, Tax Controversy Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Federal, State, And Local Tax Laws, Regulations, And Procedures. This Includes A Strong Working Knowledge Of Tax Codes, Irs Guidelines, And Tax Court Rulings.

  • Experience With Tax Controversy Resolution: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Resolving Complex Tax Disputes And Controversies On Behalf Of Clients. This Includes Experience With Various Resolution Methods Such As Appeals, Audits, And Litigation.

  • Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills: As A Senior Associate, Tax Controversy, One Must Have Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills To Effectively Represent Clients In Disputes With Tax Authorities. This Includes The Ability To Clearly And Persuasively Communicate Complex Tax Matters To Clients, Tax Authorities, And Other Stakeholders.

  • Analytical And Strategic Thinking: Tax Controversies Often Involve Complex And Technical Issues That Require A Senior Associate To Think Critically And Strategically. This Includes The Ability To Analyze Large Amounts Of Financial And Tax Data, Identify Key Issues, And Develop Effective Strategies For Resolution.

  • Relevant Education And Certifications: A Senior Associate, Tax Controversy Should Have A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field. In Addition, Relevant Certifications Such As Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Or Enrolled Agent (Ea) Are Highly Preferred.
