  1. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and execute menus that meet the high standards of Royal Caribbean Cruises and align with guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
  2. Lead and manage a team of chefs, ensuring a positive and efficient work environment, and providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
  3. Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring they are of the highest quality and consistency.
  4. Train and mentor new and existing team members on cooking techniques, menu items, and safety and sanitation standards.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and maintain proper ordering and storage of food items to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  6. Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards and procedures, and take corrective action as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as Dining Room and Beverage, to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
  8. Conduct regular tastings and quality checks to maintain high standards and make necessary adjustments to recipes and techniques.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu planning to enhance guest experience.
  10. Support and promote a positive and inclusive work culture, fostering teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect within the culinary team.

Job Qualifications
  • Culinary Education: A Sous Chef At Royal Caribbean Cruises Should Have A Degree Or Certification In Culinary Arts From A Reputable Institution.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A High-Volume Kitchen Or Cruise Ship Setting.

  • Leadership Skills: The Ability To Lead And Motivate A Team Of Cooks And Other Kitchen Staff Is Crucial For A Sous Chef At Royal Caribbean Cruises.

  • Menu Development: A Strong Understanding Of Menu Planning And Development, Including The Ability To Create New And Innovative Dishes That Meet The Company's Standards And Guest Preferences.

  • Food Safety And Sanitation: Knowledge Of Proper Food Handling And Sanitation Practices, As Well As Experience With Health And Safety Regulations, Is Essential For Ensuring The Safety And Well-Being Of Guests And Crew Members.
