- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify popular and unique activities at each port of call and negotiate contracts with local vendors.
- Create detailed itineraries for each excursion, including transportation, activity schedules, and pricing information.
- Collaborate with onboard departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of shore excursions, including managing guest reservations and providing necessary information.
- Train and supervise a team of shore excursions staff, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional guest service and efficient operations.
- Monitor and analyze guest feedback and excursion ratings to continuously improve and enhance the program.
- Manage the department budget, forecasting and tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations during shore excursions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local vendors, tour operators, and port authorities to ensure the smooth operation of excursions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitors' offerings to innovate and differentiate our shore excursions program.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to promote and market shore excursions to guests before and during their cruise.
- Handle any guest concerns or issues related to shore excursions promptly and effectively, providing resolution and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for the shore excursions team and provide coaching and training as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication within the shore excursions department and across other departments.
- Represent the company and maintain a professional image at all times, both onboard and during interactions with external partners.
