- Develop and manage a comprehensive shore excursion program for Royal Caribbean Cruises, including researching and selecting tour options, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with various departments, including onboard activities, guest services, and ports of call teams, to coordinate and promote shore excursions to guests.
- Train and supervise a team of shore excursion coordinators and guides, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the shore excursion program based on guest feedback, industry trends, and financial performance.
- Oversee the booking and reservation process for shore excursions, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with guests.
- Manage budgets and expenses related to shore excursions, including tracking and reporting on revenue, expenses, and profit margins.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local tour operators and vendors to secure competitive pricing and high-quality excursion options.
- Ensure all shore excursions comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular inspections and audits.
- Serve as a point of contact for guest inquiries and concerns related to shore excursions, promptly addressing and resolving any issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, destination information, and guest preferences to continuously enhance the shore excursion program and experience.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop promotional materials and strategies to increase shore excursion sales and awareness.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shore excursion operations, including inventory, contracts, and financial reports.
- Represent Royal Caribbean Cruises at industry events and develop relationships with industry partners to promote the shore excursion program and expand offerings.
- Uphold the company's values and mission, ensuring a high level of professionalism and exceptional customer service at all times.
Knowledge Of Destination Management: A Shore Excursions Manager Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Ports Of Call And The Various Excursions Offered In Each Location. They Should Be Able To Advise Guests On The Best Activities And Tours Based On Their Interests And Budget.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Crucial For A Shore Excursions Manager As They Interact With Guests, Vendors, And Ship Personnel On A Regular Basis. They Should Also Have Exceptional Customer Service Skills To Ensure A Positive And Memorable Experience For Guests.
Experience In Sales And Marketing: A Shore Excursions Manager Should Have Experience In Sales And Marketing To Promote And Sell Excursions To Guests. They Should Be Able To Identify And Capitalize On Opportunities To Increase Excursion Bookings And Revenue.
Organizational And Management Skills: As A Shore Excursions Manager, One Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team, Coordinating With Vendors, And Ensuring Smooth Operations.
