  1. Develop and manage a portfolio of shore excursions that cater to a diverse group of guests and align with company standards and values.
  2. Collaborate with various departments, including onboard entertainment, food and beverage, and guest services, to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience.
  3. Create and maintain strong relationships with local tour operators and vendors to secure competitive pricing and high-quality services.
  4. Continuously monitor and analyze guest feedback and excursion performance to make necessary adjustments and improvements.
  5. Train and supervise a team of shore excursion staff, providing ongoing support, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  6. Ensure all shore excursion operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  7. Manage budgets and expenses related to shore excursions, including negotiating contracts and monitoring expenses.
  8. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote and market shore excursions to guests.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and competition to identify new opportunities and enhance the overall guest experience.
  10. Ensure timely and accurate communication with guests regarding excursion details, including booking, cancellations, and changes.
  11. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and handle any guest complaints or issues related to shore excursions promptly and efficiently.
  12. Work closely with the shore excursions team to develop and implement training programs for onboard staff to increase knowledge and sales of shore excursions.
  13. Participate in onboard meetings and events to promote and support shore excursions.
  14. Continuously seek ways to improve and enhance the shore excursion program, making recommendations for new excursions and experiences.
  15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Local Ports And Destinations: A Shore Excursions Manager Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Various Ports Of Call And Destinations That The Cruise Line Visits. This Includes Knowledge Of Popular Tourist Attractions, Local Customs And Cultures, And Safety Precautions.

  • Experience In Tour Planning And Coordination: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have Experience In Planning And Coordinating Shore Excursions For Large Groups. This Includes Creating Itineraries, Managing Logistics, And Ensuring A Smooth And Enjoyable Experience For Guests.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Shore Excursions Manager, You Will Be Responsible For Interacting With Guests And Addressing Any Concerns Or Issues They May Have. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For Ensuring A Positive Guest Experience.

  • Ability To Manage A Team: This Role May Involve Overseeing A Team Of Shore Excursion Staff, Including Tour Guides And Transportation Coordinators. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have Experience In Managing And Motivating A Team To Deliver Exceptional Service.

  • Knowledge Of Safety And Emergency Protocols: Safety Is A Top Priority On Cruise Ships, And A Shore Excursions Manager Should Be Well-Versed In Safety And Emergency Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of First Aid, Evacuation Protocols, And How To Handle Unexpected Situations While On Shore Excursions.
